Jota Sport secured their first overall Porsche Carrera Cup GB podium in only their second race when Phil Quaife finished third in race 2 of the season opener at Brands Hatch on Sunday. Meanwhile, Sam Hancock got his first points on the board with a solid fourth-place finish.

Starting 4th (Quaife) and 5th (Hancock) on the grid both drivers kept their places off the grid but both struggled with understeer during the race. The increased tyre degradation meant that neither driver could hold the top three of Michael Caine, Tim Harvey and Tim Bridgman in the opening stages.

Quaife began to catch third placed Bridgman in the closing stages, but was handed third place when the Team Parker Racing driver suffered a huge accident at Paddock Hill Bend. The debris from the crash ultimately caused a red flag leaving Quaife with his second-class podium of the weekend and Hancock with his first points on the board following his race 1 misfortune.
