In the dry first practice session, Sam Hancock put in a near-perfect lap to top the timesheets (1min 22.141s) while Phil Quaife was in sixth with a 1min 22.8s.

On a tricky wet track, Quaife showed his true grit however, right from the start of the second of the two forty minute-sessions. He and Hancock exchanged fastest laps to be on target, after twenty minutes, for an amazing 1-2 in only the team’s second official outing.

As the track started to dry, Quaife continued to show impressive speed resulting in him finishing in P1 (1min 27.038s). Meanwhile Hancock concentrated on establishing a strong race set up which left him in a solid fourth position with a fastest lap of 1min 28.378s.

With no mechanical dramas to report and both drivers taking a session each, not to mention the pairs’ excellent pace during the wet parts of the day, Team Jota can now look confidently to the fight for pole position in tomorrow’s qualifying session.
