Jota Sport took solid points from race 2 of the Porsche Carrera Cup GB at Rockingham with Sam Hancock finishing fourth and Phil Quaife fifth at the Northamptonshire circuit.

Hancock made a fine start from 5th on the grid and climbing two places on lap one with passing moves on Dean Smith and championship leader Michael Caine. Throughout the remainder of the race Hancock and Caine enjoyed an entertaining battle for the final podium spot, with Hancock fierce in his defence. For 15 laps the pair fought for the position, before Caine finally took the place as Hancock ran wide at the final chicane.

After his race 1 disappointment, where his car didn’t leave the grid due to a gearbox problem, Quaife also made an excellent start and was up to fifth, from his seventh place starting position, after passing Charles
Bateman and Smith on the opening tour. He then began his pursuit of the Caine / Hancock battle, following the duelling pair closely for the remainder of the race without being able to get close enough to join in the podium battle.

Quaife remains third in the race for the drivers’ championship after four rounds, with Hancock up to sixth, while Jota Sport are third in the teams’ championship.
