Thruxton qualifying: Hancock 2nd, Quaife 5th

Jota Sport enjoyed their best qualifying performance of the year in round 4 of the Porsche Carrera Cup GB at Thruxton as Sam Hancock put his Porsche 997 on the front row for race 1.

Hancock’s time of 1:14.491 was just three tenths of a second off the pole time of championship leader Michael Caine, while Phil Quaife will start Saturday’s race 1 on the inside of the third row in fifth, having set a best lap of 1:15.054 as just half a second covered second to fifth.

Each driver’s second best qualifying time will form the grid for race 2. Quaife will again start fifth, although Hancock drops to third after veteran racer Tim Harvey’s second best time was just a fraction quicker.

Caine will start both races from pole position.
