Jota Sport enjoyed their first single race double-podium as Sam Hancock claimed second and Phil Quaife third in race 1 of the Porsche Carrera Cup GB at Snetterton.

Starting from pole position, Hancock made a good start off the line and fought hard to hold off the fast starting Tim Harvey in the opening laps. Unfortunately, on the sixth tour, Sam was badly baulked while lapping a back marker and was forced to lift off the throttle allowing Harvey to dive past. The London-based driver also had to fight hard to keep third-place Charles Bateman at bay, but held him off to take second.

Quaife meanwhile produced an impressive drive from seventh on the grid to charge through to the final podium place. A superb first lap saw him get ahead of TIm Bridgman, Jake Rosenzweig and Michael Caine to run fourth. Bridgman found his way past to demote Phil to fifth early in the race, but when Bridgman and Bateman had a coming together in the closing stages, Quaife was on hand to dive through for third.

With championship leader Caine in fifth and Bridgman classified in 11th, both Hancock and Quaife have closed the points gap at the top of the drivers' standings and improved Jota Sport's position in the teams' championship.
