2nd and 3rd for Jota Sport in race 1

Jota Sport took another double-podium finish in race 1 of the Porsche Carrera Cup GB at Knockhill with Sam Hancock finishing second and Phil Quaife in third.

Starting from pole position, Hancock didn't get away cleanly allowing fellow front row starter Tim Bridgman to pull alongside into turn 1. Sam had to concede the position before chasing hard over the next few laps. A lengthy Safety Car period following a big accident for Charles Bateman meant Hancock had just four laps to make his bid for victory in the closing stages, but again he was just too far behind to make his move and he ended the race defending hard from team-mate Quaife.

Phil had made a strong start to the race from fourth on the grid and passed championship leader Michael Caine on the second lap to take third. He was closing on the leading battle prior to the Safety Car period and when the race restarted he closed right up to Hancock. A move at the hairpin almost brought him second place, as Sam momentarily locked up, but Phil couldn't squeeze past and settled for third.
