Hancock 3rd and Quaife 5th at season finale

Jota Sport's Sam Hancock qualified third for race 1 of the Porsche Carrera Cup GB season finale at Brands Hatch with team-mate Phil Quaife 5th fastest.

In a typically tight session, in which a second covered the top nine cars, Hancock's best time of 47.330 seconds around the short Indy Circuit was just three tenths off pole sitter Tim Bridgman. Quaife was another three tenths further back, his time of 47.619 seconds good enough for fifth behind championship chasing Michael Caine.

Each driver's second best time counts towards the grid for race 2 and will see Hancock starting from fourth and Quaife from sixth. Sam's second best time of 47.585 was saw him qualify behind Caine, while Quaife dropped behind the returning Team Parker Racing man Jake Rosenweig.

Race 1 takes place this evening at 17:35 local time, with race 2 on Sunday at 13:35.
